Each year, thousands of schools across Europe work on common projects where teachers and pupils take part in activities with partners in other countries. They learn with and from each other, experience the cultural and linguistic diversity of Europe and make new friends from abroad.

Comenius week is a great occasion to present all the success stories of Comenius School Partnerships and eTwinning projects to the wider public in Europe. It is a bi-annual campaign opened to all schools in the countries participating in the Comenius Programme.

This year's campaign will focus its activities around the week of 2-9 May 2011. Teachers are encouraged to book one or several days in their calendars to involve their pupils in activities that will share their experiences and the outcomes of theor European cooperation projects with the wider public.

Schools are free to choose any activities they would like to carry out during the week. For example:

• organising an open day to present project work to other pupils, teachers, parents and/or the local press;
• creating an exhibition of project outcomes at school or in town and invite other schools and the local community;
• arranging to meet project partners in a video conference or project meeting;
• taking part in competitions or other activities organised at national level by the National Agencies or National Support Services of the Comenius programme.
